Use the links here to keep on top of the latest evidence.  Most of the sites below include RSS feeds – ask Library staff about using these to keep up with the latest content on web sites.

Cochrane Library – new systematic reviews; updated monthly.  Now with QIPP reviews.

SIGN (Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network)
Health Technology Assessment – published research and current projects
Map of Medicine –  a collection of evidence-based, practice-informed care maps which can be customised for local use.  National care maps are freely accessible to all NHS staff.

NHS Evidence – search service from NICE; no need to log in but register for NHS Athens to make full use of the site. NICE also produce Evidence Updates, designed to highlight new evidence which might have an impact on guidance.

Clinical Knowledge Summaries (CKS) – a reliable source of clinical knowledge summaries and practical ‘know how’ about the common conditions managed in primary care

Testing treatments – web site to help health professionals and patients answer the question: How do you know whether one treatment is better than another, or whether the evidence about a treatment’s benefits and harms is reliable?  The accompanying book of the same name,  is available to borrow:
